Picture of a Brene Brown book about rumbling with vulnerability

Courage Takes Vulnerability

Vulnerability is defined as the quality or state of being exposed to the possibility of being attacked or harmed, either physically or emotionally.

Thursday I shared with the world a letter I had written regarding society being reactive as opposed to proactive in regards to gun violence. I was extremely nervous about being so vulnerable with my thoughts and feelings, yet I shared anyways. My 2019 word is courageous, and Thursday I lived my word.

This morning I woke up to a DM and the only words that stuck with me were, “I don’t agree…” I sat with this for a while and realized that no matter what my thoughts were, someone was going to disagree with them. It takes immense courage to be vulnerable despite knowing other people will judge and disagree.

Friends, never fear vulnerability. Vulnerability takes courage, and I know you are courageous.

Happy Saturday friends.
