Dr. Hymans morning glory collagen smoothie in a mason jar

Morning Glory Collagen Smoothie

Recently I switched up my breakfast game and added this brain-healthy magical goodness to my mornings. I loved the morning glory collagen smoothie sooooooo much that I had to share it with you here.

Honestly, I wish I could take credit for creating it, but the praise goes to Dr. Hyman. I recently signed up for his sleep master class, and this gem of a recipe was part of his course material. On a side note, if you want to step up your sleep game, I STRONGLY encourage you to sign up for his class (P.S. It’s FREE!).

Anywho. Back to today’s scheduled content.

I REALLY want to make sure you have all the resources you can get to ensure your brain and gut health are on point, so here’s a smoothie I suggest you try.

THE MORNING GLORY COLLAGEN SMOOTHIE

The morning glory collagen smoothie is jam-packed full of antioxidants that support memory, cognitive function, and mood. Top that off with protein and some healthy fats that are guaranteed to fill your tummy up, but not leave you feeling lethargic and bloated. Can I get an amen?!?

Here’s what you’ll all need…

Are you ready to dive in? Let’s do this!

I use a Vitamix to make my smoothies, but any blender will work. Go ahead and pour in a 1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk.

Next, add a 1/2 cup of coconut water.

Now on to your good for you fats. You can use 1 t. MCT oil or 1 t. coconut oil, but I prefer MCT oil.

Toss in your zucchini next (1/2 cup). I cut mine into slices and then freeze them. Adds a nice little chill to your beverage.

Now on to your blueberries (1/2 cup is all you need).

Toss in 2 scoops of collagen powder. I LOVE Great Lakes Collagen Hydrolysate, but you can use whatever brand you prefer. Just be mindful of the brand you purchase because not all collagen products are created equal.

Drop in 1 T. of almond butter. I love me some fresh ground almond butter because it allows me to skip the annoying oil.

Sprinkle in a teaspoon of chia seeds. I use the Thrive brand chia seeds.

Now toss in a teaspoon of hemp seed.

Last, but certainly not least, add in 1/4 t. cinnamon.

Now hit that blend button, do a quick happy dance, and drink up!

RECIPE

  • 1/2 cup wild blueberries
  • 1/2 cup zucchini, chopped and frozen
  • 2 scoops (about 2 tablespoons) collagen powder
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon chia seed
  • 1 teaspoon hemp seeds
  • 1 teaspoon MCT oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Toss all this magical goodness into your blender and turn that bad boy on. Do a little happy dance and blend until smooth. Once done, pour all this yumminess into your cup and drink up, buttercup!

P.S. Can you do me the world’s LARGEST favor? If you make this goodness, and love it, can you please share it on social and tag me so I can see? It helps me not feel like I am talking to myself on here. Enjoy!
